Meet The Doctors

Dr. Debra Haselton

Dr. Haselton is a native 'Richmonder' with a long history in dentistry.  She began her career as a certified dental laboratory technician (CDT) specializing in crown and bridge and dental implant prosthodontics.  She went on to pursue dental training at VCU-MCV School of Dentistry and completed a residency in Advanced General Dentistry followed by specialty training in Prosthodontics.  She is Board Certified in Prosthodontics by the American Board of Prosthodontics and holds fellowship status in the American College of Prosthodontics and the American College of Dentists.  Dr. Haselton has served as Associate Professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Professor and Director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at VCU School of Dentistry, where she provided advanced general dentistry training for new dental school graduates. She has lectured and taught nationally in the area of prosthodontics and dental implants.   Dr. Haselton sees patients at the Richmond Center for Advanced Dentistry on Monday through Thursday each week.  She enjoys working with patients with a wide range of dental needs, from routine dental restorations (fillings) and cosmetic procedures (veneers, bonding, and crowns), to complex restorative and implant reconstructive dentistry.  When she is not teaching and treating patients, she enjoys playing classical and jazz piano.

Dr. Ali Byrd

Dr. Ali Byrd is delighted to be joining Dr. Haselton and continuing her legacy at the Richmond Center for Advanced Dentistry. She would be pleased to welcome and serve you at this office. Dr. Byrd grew up in Harrisonburg, VA and is excited to be back ‘home.’ Dr. Byrd is a proud graduate of James Madison University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology.  After college, she attended the Medical University of South Carolina where she earned her dental degree and completed her lifelong goal of becoming a dentist.  Dr. Byrd completed a general practice residency at the University of North Carolina where she broadened her dental and surgical experience. After completing her residency, she married Dr. Richard Boyd and moved to Boston to work in private practice until he finished his residency. They returned together to South Carolina, living and practicing in Columbia, SC.
While she and Richard enjoyed their time and many fun experiences in the Northeast and in South Carolina, they are excited to be putting down roots in Richmond, VA. Dr. Byrd and Richard have a daughter, Hadley James, and are enjoying spending time with family, friends, and their British lab, Lyla. In her free time, Dr. Byrd enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, skiing or scuba diving, cheering on her favorite teams (Go Dukes!), and cooking. She and Richard have recently mastered pasta making and rolling their own sushi. Dr. Byrd looks forward to meeting you at your next appointment and continuing to provide exceptional care along with the team at Richmond Center for Advanced Dentistry.
